"Well I think his everyday Joe appearance is all a part of his cover. Think about it, you'd never suspect a guy who looks like that is an assassin. Which makes him the perfect assassin." Director: Jeff Wadlow Writers: Jeff Wadlow and Jeff Morris Cinematographer: Peter Lyons Collister Composer: Ludwig Gรถransson Cast: Kevin James, Zulay Henao, Andy Garcia, Maurice Compte, Kim Coates, Andrew Howard, Ron Rifkin, Yul Vazquez, P.J. Byrne, Kelen Coleman, Leonard Earl Howze and Rob Riggle Review: When he is not playing Paul Blart, i actually kind of like Kevin James. I loved King of Queens and i even enjoy watching his new show, Kevin Can Wait. His movie however has not really been all that great. Like i said, Paul Blart is awful and so was The Zookeeper. Here Comes the Boom was alright though and i think this one is about the same. Just alright. It had a lot of funny moments, but nothing that really stood out. Nothing memorable, but it keept me entertained throughout.

"Out here, there is no good and there is no bad. To survive out here, you've got to out monster the monster. Can you do that?" Director: John Hillcoat Writer: Matt Cook Cinematographer: Nicolas Karakatsanis Composers: Bobby Krlic, Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross and Claudia Sarne Cast: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Clifton Collins Jr., Norman Reedus, Kate Winslet, Gal Gadot, Teresa Palmer, Michelle Ang and Michael Kenneth Williams Review: This was a very mediocre crime thriller saved by a fantastic cast. How on earth did they get a cast like that for a movie like this? It's far from a bad movie, but not something i would ever think Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck or Kate Winslet to appear in. It started out very strong with a fantastic heist scene, but eventually it just started to drag on and on while the story made little to no sense at times. It's not a movie i'm gonna remember after a while, but i still enjoyed it while watching it. For the most part at least.

"Y'know how they say teenagers have no fear of death? That they're never gonna get hurt? Well not me, OK? I was born with the gift of fear." Director: Rob Letterman Writers: Darren Lemke, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski Cinematographer: Javier Aguirresarobe Composer: Danny Elfman Cast: Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Ryan Lee, Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Halston Sage, Steven Krueger, Keith Arthur Bolden, Amanda Lund, Timothy Simons, Ken Marino, Karan Soni and R.L. Stine Review: I was a huge fan of the Goosebumps books and TV show as a child and still remember a lot of it fondly, but i had no interest in watching this movie at any point. First of all, it wasn't based on any particular book, but just a mash up of all the most famous ones. And secondly, it was from the director of Shark Tale and Gulliver's Travels. Two of the worst movies i have ever seen. I really did not want to watch this. So i'm very suprised to say that i actually really enjoyed it. It was really funny, well paced and Jack Black wasn't as annoying as he usually can get in these types of movie. The CGI monsters looked terrible at times though and there were some huge plot holes and stuff that made no sense, but like i said, i still enjoyed it. I'm thinking i need to buy the blu-ray in time for Halloween.

"Conner's music may not be what I listen to in my free time, but it seems to make so many people money." Directors: Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone Writers: Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone Cinematographer: Brandon Trost Composer: Matthew Compton Cast: Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer, Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Maya Rudolph, Joan Cusack, Imogen Poots, Chris Redd, Edgar Blackmon and James Buckley Review: Still just as funny as the first time i watched it. It's a shame it wasn't a bigger hit because i really want more movies from Lonely Island. The songs are catchy as hell too. I can't get that Bin Laden song out of my head.

"Nature made me a freak. Man made me a weapon. And God made it last too long." Director: James Mangold Writers: James Mangold, Scott Frank and Michael Green Cinematographer: John Mathieson Composer: Marco Beltrami Cast: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Richard E. Grant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Quincy Fouse Review: Damn... I have always been a fan of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, so when i heard this was gonna be his last movie i initially did get a bit disappointed. He has been playing the character for way longer than anyone could demand of him, but at the same time i can never see anyone else in the role now. We get new Batman actors and Spider-man actors all the time and i don't mind, but Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was something special, so i'm happy to say he went out with the best movie of the franchise so far. Who would have thought that character from the cheesy first X-Men movie would eventually end up starring in something like this. I am actually amazed they got away with it. First of all, this movie is fucking brutal. They earn that R rating. But that is far from the best part of the movie. The performances all around are great, but Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were fantastic. I honestly believe if this movie had been released later in the year, they would have serious awards buzz for their performances. It's some of the best performances of both of their careers. James Mangold also did a great job as the director. I have been a fan of him since Cop Land and feel he is a very underrated director. I also really liked his previous Wolverine movie, but this is at a whole nother level. My only complaint with the movie is that the villains were a bit weak. I don't think i am gonna remember any of them for very long. But still, i can't wait to see this movie again on blu-ray. I'll just say it again, it was the perfect way to end Hugh Jackman's run as Logan. Hopefully they will wait a long time before recasting the character.

"Howdy. I'm gonna separate your head from your shoulders. Hope you don't mind none." Director: Kathryn Bigelow Writers: Kathryn Bigelow and Eric Red Cinematographer: Adam Greenberg Composer: Tangerine Dream Cast: Adrian Pasdar, Jenny Wright, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein, Tim Thomerson, Joshua John Miller, Marcie Leeds, Troy Evans and James Le Gros Review: It's movies like this that makes me realize what a huge loss the death of Bill Paxton was. He was one of my all time favorite actors, but for some reason i had never watched this one until now. That is a damn shame because he gives one of his all time best performances here. It was always a blast to just watch him go all out on a character, and he definitely got to do that here. But Bill wasn't just great in his over the top bad guy roles, he really could do anything. He was also fantastic in his more subtle work like in Apollo 13 or Titanic. He really could do it all. He was a one of a kind actor who will be sincerely missed. Rest in peace Mr. Paxton.

"This planet doesn't belong to us. Ancient species owned this earth long before mankind. I spent 30 years trying to prove the truth: monsters exist." Director: Jordan Vogt-Roberts Writers: Dan Gilroy, Max Borenstein, Derek Connolly and John Gatins Cinematographer: Larry Fong Composer: Henry Jackman Cast: Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins, John Ortiz, Tian Jing, Toby Kebbell, Jason Mitchell, Shea Whigham, Thomas Mann, Eugene Cordero, Marc Evan Jackson and Richard Jenkins Review: I have only ever watched the Peter Jackson version of King Kong before this and i thought that one was pretty boring so i wasn't really all that excited for a new King Kong movie. After watching the trailers though i was hyped. This was a really fun blockbuster movie. Everything about it just worked. The cast were all great. I could have used some more of John Goodman, but other than that i have no complaints. Samuel L. Jackson was scenery chewing blast as always, John C. Reilly was hilarious as always and Tom Hiddleston also finally proved to me that he could be a convincing James Bond. But it's Kong everyone comes to see and he was fantastic. I don't think he has ever been this big and i loved that. I can't wait to see him fight Godzilla now. I also watched this in 3D and while i'm not a fan of that usually, it worked well here. They used it well and it didn't just look blurry and dark all the time. I would still prefer to watch it in 2D though. That's what i'm gonna do once i get it on blu-ray.

"These guys can not be my groomsmen. It looks like the entire cast of Goonies grew up and became rapists!" Director: Jeremy Garelick Writers: Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender Cinematographer: Bradford Lipson Composer: Christopher Lennertz Cast: Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco, Affion Crockett, Jorge Garcia, Dan Gill, Corey Holcomb, Ken Howard, Colin Kane, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Alan Ritchson, Mimi Rogers, Aaron Takahashi, Olivia Thirlby, Whitney Cummings and Ignacio Serricchio Review: This is not a movie i ever planned on watching, but on a lazy sunday like this, it works. This is the ultimate hangover movie. Not too funny so it hurts when i laugh, but still entertaining enough to keep me occupied for a couple of hours. It's predictable as all hell, but it had it's funny moments here and there. This reminded me a lot of a typical Adam Sandler movie in a lot of ways. Ten years ago this definitely would have starred Adam Sandler and Kevin James and the script would not have had to change one bit.
