"Death used to be something we just had to live with, and now it's a convenient way to escape pain." Director: Charlie McDowell Writers: Charlie McDowell and Justin Lader Cinematographer: Sturla Brandth Grรธvlen Composers: Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans Cast: Jason Segel, Rooney Mara, Robert Redford, Jesse Plemons, Ron Canada, Riley Keough and Mary Steenburgen Review: I was actually really looking forward to this movie. It looked great from the trailer. It had an interesting story and a good cast, but in the end it was just really boring. It was the same type of strange, forgettable, middle-of-the-road indie movie that Netflix seems to be so interested in these days. It's starting to get to a point where if i see a movie is a Netflix original, i will probably skip it. It looks like Beasts of no Nation was the fluke here.

"Ignorance brings chaos, not knowledge." Director: Luc Besson Writer: Luc Besson Cinematographer: Thierry Arbogast Composer: Eric Serra Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Min-sik Choi, Amr Waked, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Pilou Asbรฆk, Analeigh Tipton and Nicolas Phongpheth Review: This was a really fun movie right up until the last act. Then it got a little full of itself and just became boring. Visuals were cool though.

"Everybody knows you never go full retard." Director: Ben Stiller Writers: Ben Stiller, Justin Theroux and Etan Cohen Cinematographer: John Toll Composer: Theodore Shapiro Cast: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Jay Baruchel, Brandon T. Jackson, Steve Coogan, Danny McBride, Nick Nolte, Matthew McConaughey, Brandon Soo Hoo, Trieu Tran, Reggie Lee, Bill Hader and Tom Cruise Review: This is still one of my all time favorite comedies. I can watch it countless times and never get tired. Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise alone makes this movie worth it.

They looked nothing alike.

"He's done awful things to people and he'll do awful things things to you." Director: M. Night Shyamalan Writer: M. Night Shyamalan Cinematographer: Mike Gioulakis Composer: West Dylan Thordson Cast: James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Haley Lu Richardson, Jessica Sula, Izzie Coffey, Brad William Henke and Sebastian Arcelus Review: Where has this M. Night Shyamalan been for the last 10 to 15 years? I can't believe it! An actual great M. Night Shyamalan movie in god damn 2017. I really liked this movie. James McAvoy gives one of the best performances of his career playing several different characters. He really shows what kind of range he has here. The rest of the cast were also all great. Especially the lead actress, Anya Taylor-Joy. She also impressed me last year with The VVitch so she is definitely an actress i am going to keep an eye on from now on. But really, it's M. Night Shyamalan that is the star here. The very last scene of the movie literally made me say "what the fuck!?" out loud. I'm very happy i went into the movie not having that twist spoiled for me. Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come from Shyamalan because he really was an amazing writer and director from The Sixth sense to The Village. Well, The Village was the weakest up to that point, but it was still good. It was after that something happened and he lost his touch. The Happening is fun in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way, but everything else is unwatchable. I have not seen The Visit yet though, and i heard that one was pretty good as well, so maybe i will have to check that one out too now.

"You just killed a helicopter with a car!" Director: Len Wiseman Writers: Mark Bomback and David Marconi Cinematographer: Simon Duggan Composer: Marco Beltrami Cast: Bruce Willis, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Maggie Q, Cliff Curtis, Kevin Smith, Jonathan Sadowski, Andrew Friedman, Yorgo Constantine, Cyril Raffaelli and Zeljko Ivanek Review: I can't believe this movie is already 10 years old. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago i watched it in theaters. But it still holds up though. It's not a good Die Hard movie, but it's still a damn fun action movie. Definitely miles ahead of the last Die Hard movie. Now that was garbage.

"I seek righteousness. But I'll take revenge." Director: Antoine Fuqua Writers: Richard Wenk and Nic Pizzolatto Cinematographer: Mauro Fiore Composers: Simon Franglen and James Horner Cast: Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier, Haley Bennett, Peter Sarsgaard, Luke Grimes and Matt Bomer Review: I have never seen the original Magnificent Seven or Seven Samurai, so i didn't really have anything to compare this to, and i was still disappointed. I do love westerns and Denzel Washington, so i thought this would be perfect for me. I also think Antoine Fuqua can be a really good director when given the right project. The rest of the cast were also all great, but in the end, the movie was just boring. The action scenes were alright, but nothing special. By the end i just didn't care who lived and who died. This movie was just a whole lot of wasted potential.
